Riese & Müller 2021 – The biggest eBike novelties for the next year
13.10.2020
by
Riese & Müller has been shining for years with innovative and well-thought-out eBikes that have set new milestones, especially in the trekking and cargo sector. There are new bikes in the starting blocks for the coming year as well. An overview of the most exciting concepts including details, prices and first pictures can be found here.
The best of two worlds: Riese & Müller would like to combine the advantages of a full-suspension bike with those of a step-through bike with the Homage. Riding comfort and safety are the top priorities for the eBike with 27.5″ tires. Those who like to ride off-road can add the GX spec option with Schwalbe Rock Razor off-road tires. Would you like a little more? For an extra charge of € 1,169, the Homage comes with two batteries and a total of 1,250 Wh. For those in a hurry, an S-pedelec version is also available, which supports speeds of up to 45 km/h. The optional RX chip, which enables GPS tracking, insurance protection and replacement service in the event of theft, is intended to provide extra security. Cost: € 97 plus subscription-based service costs. How the predecessor model performed in the test, you can find out in our affiliated magazine E-MOUNTAINBIKE (click for review).

Riese & Müller Packster 70
In addition to the Riese & Müller Load, which we already tested in our comprehensive cargo bike group test, the Packster is the second E-cargo bike platform of the Darmstadt-based company. Compared to the Load, the Packster comes without rear suspension. The load volume is, however, a good portion larger and with 350 liters almost on VW Golf level. The EPP box holds up to three kids and thus makes the Packster the perfect children’s cab, even a baby seat can be mounted for the junior cyclists. Support is provided by the powerful Bosch Cargo Line motor, and for a longer range, a dual-battery option is also available as usual from Riese & Müller – cleverly stored within the frame underneath the cargo box. Whether the RX Chip for more safety, the GX option for off-road tires or the Performance Package for more powerful brakes, lights and a suspension seatpost: You can configure the Packster 70 to your individual needs when you place your order.

Riese & Müller Roadster
The Riese & Müller Roadster comes rolled up in a rather untypical slim silhouette for the manufacturer and was internally one of the most polarizing concepts. The Bosch Performance Line CX motor in combination with the sporty frame is supposed to make the urban bike a fast and fun companion. According to the manufacturer, the Suntour NCX suspension fork provides the necessary comfort on uneven paths. Whether derailleur or hub shifting, pedelec or S-pedelec: the Riese & Müller Roadster covers all preferences with the four available versions. If the stock configuration is not enough, the Purion display can be exchanged for the Bosch SmartphoneHub or the all-new Bosch Nyon display, too. However, there is only one upgrade option for the battery from 500 to 625 Wh. The Riese & Müller RX Chip is already included by default. Together with one of the service packages, which can be ordered online, you should receive quick assistance in case of damage or theft. Even people with a lot of luggage have been thought of: luggage racks are optionally available for both the front and the rear.

Riese & Müller Roadster Mixte
The Riese & Müller Roadster Mixte is the trapezoid version of the classic Roadster eBike and should make it easier for you to saddle up thanks to the slightly lowered top tube. According to the manufacturer, the Roadster Mixte shines with agile and safe handling, without neglecting comfort. If you prefer an upright sitting position, you can add the comfort kit for € 49. A curved handlebar, a suspension seat post and ergonomic grips are designed to make riding an urban bike even more relaxed. You don’t trust the digital features of the RX chip and would rather hold something in your hand? Then the Abus frame lock including a locking chain and a saddlebag for € 97 is the right choice for you. The Roadster Mixte is, like the classic Roadster, available in four versions with derailleur or hub shifting and as a pedelec or s-pedelec. Besides an upgrade to the Bosch SmartphoneHub, the Nyon display, a 625 Wh battery and luggage racks for front and rear are available as well.
