The requirements of a modern ebike are as varied as the biodiversity of Madagascar. It’s no longer enough for a bike with a motor to take some of the load off the rider at the push of a button. No, a 2022 E-SUV bike must tick many more boxes. It has to perform just as well off-road as it does on asphalt, be a loyal companion on your daily commute and easily haul your luggage on weekend tours. Ideally, the battery should only have to be charged once a week and the control center should feature a large, easy-to-use display and excellent connectivity. This is nothing new to the capable team behind FLYER who are presenting a new full-suspension E-SUV bike just in time for this year’s Eurobike, the Goroc X. In addition to the existing Goroc bikes, the new Goroc X promises to perform just as well even when you head off the beaten track thanks to front and rear suspension, keeping the rider noticeably more comfortable. What else can it do?

The Panasonic GX Ultimate Pro FIT motor on the Goroc X

FLYER continue to rely on the powerful Panasonic GX Ultimate Pro FIT motor for the Goroc X, offering a torque output of up to 95 Nm and assisting the rider up to a speed of 25 km/h. However, in Switzerland, the home of the Goroc X, the ebike is available in an HS version that can go up to 45 km/h. The different frame sizes can’t all accommodate the same battery size. In size S, the Goroc X comes fitted with a 630 Wh battery while sizes M to XL get a 750 Wh version. The Range Extender is an option for all frame sizes, increasing the capacity by a further 540 Wh and thereby offering a total capacity of up to 1,290 Wh. It can be retrofitted for an additional € 900. With that, you’ll be well equipped for long excursions and epic climbs!

According to FLYER, the new FIT 2.0 system features improved controls, displays and a new app with smart functions, offering more intuitive operation and promising good connectivity with the digital world, which is an asset for riders of all ages. Included in this are two practical new functions. According to FLYER, the Long-Life mode maximises battery life and can be adjusted via the app, and the Boost function briefly activates Turbo mode in each of the four support levels. This can be useful when you’re in one of the lower support modes and only briefly need maximum support, such as when approaching a short, punchy climb or when crossing an intersection.

Spec, models and prices of the Goroc X

The FLYER Goroc X will be available from spring 2022 in three variants, two colours (Sahara Sand Satin and Black Shading Satin) and four frame sizes.
