Bianchi e-Omnia 2021 – new eSUV series with city, trekking and eMTBs

With their new E-Omnia series 2021, Bianchi are presenting a number of innovative eBikes which are meant to bridge the city-, tour- and mountain-bike sectors. While all models rely on a Bosch motor, all other components can be selected from Bianchi’s new 3D configurator – with a total of 8,500 different options!

Bianchi’s new eBikes clearly stand out from the crowd. Alongside the frame design, the integrated pannier rack and lighting system are the most striking features.

The new range belongs to the Bianchi Lif-e Electric Intelligence Program and is divided into three models called C-Type, T-Type and X-Type. The 3 versions are intended to set a new standard in the eMobility sector and provide an universal platform for commuters, trekking and adventure riders as well as experienced eMTBers. The new alloy models follow on from the high-end carbon eSUV’s and have been engineered with regard to design, functionality and integration in a bid to create the most comfortable and safe riding experience possible.

All models feature an integrated lighting system which makes the rider visible from the front, rear and even from the side and should therefore ensure a high level of safety. Both the front and rear lights have a 40 Lux rating and promise a field of view of up to 100m. The newly designed 3D configurator opens up new possibilities and allows prospective buyers to adapt their new bike to their very own needs and preferences, with a total of 8,500 possible spec variations to choose from. Amongst the countless options, you can choose from several different chain- and belt drivetrains, ABS systems all the way to various pannier rack systems and Bianchi signature paint-finishes.

The built-in Bosch Performance Line CX motor offers plenty of power, top-class performance and feeds off a 625 Wh battery across the entire range.

Bianchi E-Omnia C-Type 2021: With its integrated pannier rack, the step-through model stands out from the crowd.

Bianchi E-Omnia C-Type

According to Binachi, the E-Omnia C-Type model was designed for the city and wants to be a safe and smart alternative for the environment-conscious commuter. The step-through model was designed to be a versatile and reliable companion for all possible riding scenarios and the low top-tube was designed to be compatible with a wide choice of casual clothing. A special highlight is the pannier rack, which is integrated in the mainframe. As with all other models, the 40 lux light is integrated directly into the frame.

The integrated lighting system rounds off the overall extravagant look of the bike. A practical test will reveal whether 40 LUX dothe trick. However, we suspect that it’s probably not enough for all-weather and year-round eBikers.

The T-Type hardtail model is available both in a men and women version, where the latter has a deeper-drawn top tube. All models can be upgraded with an ABS front brake, which should ensure an even higher level of safety.

Conclusions

With the e-Omnia series, the Italian cult brand brings a breath of fresh air to its portfolio and at the same time pursues a brand-new concept. This relies on an online configurator with over 8,500 possible spec-variants and allows you to configure several types of eBikes, from step-through to eMTBs. Unfortunately we don’t have any detailed information about the configurator yet. The overall concept relies on an integrated lighting system, clever pannier rack system and allows customers to choose their own drive – very promising. We are just as excited for a first test as you are. The availability has not yet been communicated.
