The Propain Bam Bam on Test
It’s not just the name, but also the wide handlebars that give it away: the Propain Bam Bam is built for bigger adventures. Mounted on a rugged aluminum frame, the wide cockpit ensures maximum stability, and premium SIXPACK components – straight from the MTB scene – give it real trail cred. Add in knobbly VEE Tires and it’s: let’s shred!

The seatstays wrap around the frame, doubling as footrests and providing a bit of built-in protection. But once the little rider’s soles get muddy or wet, things get slippery. A strip of grip tape would help here as a DIY hack!
As the rider’s skills progress, you can add a disc brake. While this suits the bike’s character, it’s arguably overkill for a balance bike, adding unnecessary weight. Even without the brake, the Bam Bam tips the scales at 4.44 kg, making it one of the heavier bikes on test. On smooth surfaces, that MTB flair comes at the cost of agility. Still, at € 179 (brake not included), it’s a solid deal for a rugged little ripper with serious off-road potential.

Conclusion
The Propain Bam Bam may be slightly too heavy and sluggish for cruising around the neighborhood, but off-road is where it really comes alive. That’s where its premium MTB components, knobby tires, and rugged build truly shine. With a little DIY grip tape on the frame, this affordable off-road balance bike is a solid choice for future trail shredders.
