AMFLOW and Avinox have already unveiled several new products in 2026: First came the new Avinox M2 motor along with the new AMFLOW PX and AMFLOW PR eMTBs. But that’s not the end of the story. With the TL Carbon, AMFLOW is now entering the SUV eBike segment for the first time.
The concept behind an SUV eBike is easy to explain: it’s designed to cover as many use cases as possible with a single bike, from daily commuting and trekking adventures to occasional rides on easy trails. Accordingly, the AMFLOW TL Carbon comes fully equipped straight from the factory. The full carbon frame features a full-suspension platform, while fenders, a lighting system, and a rear rack with the MIK-HD standard including child seat compatibility all come as standard. The motor is an Avinox M2 drive, which delivers up to 125 Nm of torque and 1,100 W peak power. The new SUV eBike is expected to become available later this year.
But the real headline is this: at €3,499, DJI are bringing a fully featured SUV eBike to market with the AMFLOW TL Carbon, making a bold statement. Comparable full-suspension SUV eBikes typically cost at least €1,000 more. But can the bike live up to that price advantage on the road? We headed through the Frankfurt skyline for our first ride to answer that question and many more.
What Technical Details Does the AMFLOW TL Carbon Offer?
Only two frame sizes for an SUV eBike? AMFLOW limit the TL Carbon to sizes S/M and L/XL. The smaller version is intended for riders between 155 and 175 cm tall, while the larger option is designed for riders up to 190 cm.
Visually, the AMFLOW TL Carbon stays true to the brand’s clean design language. Its slim frame, sleek downtube, and tidy overall silhouette make the SUV eBike appear lighter than it actually is.
While many manufacturers achieve this clean look with a permanently integrated battery, AMFLOW successfully combine sleek design with everyday practicality. The 800 Wh battery remains removable and is secured with a lock. Once the battery covers have been removed, it can easily be taken out of the downtube, making charging in an apartment or office particularly convenient. For even more range, AMFLOW also offer an optional 480 Wh range extender.
Speaking of power, while the head light is powered by the main battery and can be controlled directly via the display, the rear light relies on a separate battery. Why AMFLOW opted for two different power sources remains unclear.
One of the most unusual features of the new AMFLOW TL Carbon is its variable wheel configurations. As standard, the SUV eBike rolls on 27.5″ wheels front and rear. According to AMFLOW, however, the bike can be adapted to different riding scenarios. In addition to a full 29″ setup, a so-called reverse mullet configuration with a 27.5″ front wheel and a 29″ rear wheel will also be possible.
In addition, the TL Carbon features an adjustable head angle. In the 29″ configuration, it can be slackened from 67° to 66° to provide greater stability and confidence, especially on faster descents.
The AMFLOW TL Carbon also proves versatile when it comes to carrying capacity. The maximum permitted weight is an impressive 200 kg, including the bike itself, the rider, and all cargo mounted on the front and rear racks. AMFLOW also offers an optional front rack with a payload of up to 20 kg. The rear rack is rated for up to 27 kg.
The Avinox M2 Drive System of the New AMFLOW SUV eBike
The key technical specs of the new Avinox M2 drive system:

For many riders, however, maximum motor output won’t be the deciding factor. Instead, connectivity and theft protection are likely to play a much bigger role in everyday use. This is exactly where the Avinox system comes into play. Using the Avinox Ride app, the AMFLOW TL Carbon can be integrated into Apple’s “Find My” network. This allows the bike’s location to be tracked at any time via the Find My app, offering real added value when it comes to theft protection.
What Does the AMFLOW TL Carbon’s Spec Offer?
AMFLOW consistently follow the SUV bike concept when it comes to the component spec, too. A FOX AWL Sport suspension fork with 120 mm of travel ensures comfort and control up front, while a FOX FLOAT Rhythm shock handles rear suspension duties — both feature adjustable rebound damping.
The choice of components also reflects the bike’s overall character: Rather than opting for FOX’s premium Performance or Factory product lines, AMFLOW deliberately relies on the more affordable Rhythm and AWL models. The focus isn’t maximum trail performance or sporty ambitions, but instead a robust package that prioritizes comfort and everyday usability.
For the wheels, AMFLOW rely on a 27.5″ wheelset paired with 2.35″ MAXXIS Crossmark II tires as standard. The tires are optimized more for low rolling resistance than outright trail performance, underlining the bike’s touring and everyday character. At the same time, the EXO casing isn’t an ideal match for an SUV eBike. Especially if you intend to ride fully loaded, a sturdier casing would be worth considering to ensure sufficient puncture protection across all types of gravel.
The braking system also matches the bike’s generous 200 kg maximum permitted weight. Four-piston Tektro brakes with 180 mm rotors front and rear are fitted as standard. According to AMFLOW, the brake setup has been specifically tuned for the TL and is designed to provide sufficient reserves even when riding fully loaded.
One of the most exciting features is the electronic drivetrain. Instead of relying on the usual Shimano or SRAM solutions, AMFLOW use the electronic TRP E.A.S.I. rear derailleur in combination with the new Avinox SmoothShift system. This allows gear changes even when you’re no longer pedaling during the shift. At the same time, the system automatically reduces motor torque to enable particularly smooth shifting. Fully automatic and semi-automatic shifting modes are also expected to be available at launch.
With a dropper post, a complete lighting system including a StVZO-compliant rear light, fenders, and a rear rack, the AMFLOW TL Carbon is perfectly prepared for everyday use. Rather than delivering a stripped-down eMTB with bolt-on accessories, AMFLOW has created a thoughtfully designed SUV eBike that comes almost fully equipped straight from the factory.
How Does the AMFLOW TL Carbon Ride?
We rode the standard version of the AMFLOW TL Carbon, which comes equipped with fenders and a rear rack as standard. The pleasantly upright riding position immediately stands out, providing a high level of comfort. Even in Frankfurt’s temperatures above 30°C, the airflow offers welcome cooling as soon as the Avinox M2 motor delivers its assistance.
The combination of a low system weight and the motor’s impressive power is particularly striking. In Turbo mode, the M2 delivers so much punch that its power delivery can feel a little surprising when pulling away or riding on loose surfaces, much like the Revo C from Velo de Ville. If desired, however, the support characteristics can be customized via the Avinox Ride app, which allows you to tailor all riding modes to match your needs and preferences.
Unloaded, the SUV eBike feels pleasantly balanced and inspires confidence, even among Frankfurt’s skyscrapers. “From curb to skyline” seems to have been taken literally by AMFLOW. The suspension is deliberately tuned for comfort, effortlessly smoothing out curbs, cobblestones, and other typical obstacles found in urban environments. The “skyline” reference is no coincidence either: the Avinox office is located at Platz der Deutschen Einheit, right next to Messe Frankfurt. The connection could hardly be more fitting.
The AMFLOW TL Carbon also handles narrow roads and low-speed maneuvering with ease. Despite its SUV-focused equipment, the bike never feels bulky and remains surprisingly easy to handle. The 170 mm dropper post also contributes to this, working reliably and making frequent stops and starts in city traffic noticeably more convenient.
The TRP brakes left a mixed impression during our first ride. Our test bike had covered only around 80 km, meaning the 180 mm rotors and brake pads had not yet been fully bedded in. As a result, braking performance felt somewhat underwhelming. For everyday use, the brake system is likely to be sufficient for most riders. However, considering the bike’s 200 kg maximum permitted weight, we would have preferred larger brake rotors and therefore greater braking reserves especially when riding fully loaded.
Conclusions about the AMFLOW TL Carbon
For €3,499, the bike offers a package currently in a class of its own: a full carbon frame, full suspension, the powerful Avinox M2 motor, a removable 800 Wh battery and an extensive standard spec all make the AMFLOW TL a serious statement. In our first review, it impressed with excellent comfort, agile handling and a motor whose character can be individually tuned via the Avinox Ride app. Details such as child seat and trailer compatibility, along with a generous 200 kg maximum permitted weight, reinforce the SUV concept further. The only minor weakness in our first review was the braking system, not yet fully convincing on our almost brand new test bike. If AMFLOW can maintain this quality through to production, the TL Carbon looks set to put serious pressure on the SUV eBike market.
